DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - Dougherty County Police say their preliminary investigation of a deadly Tuesday shooting found that a 77-year-old husband shot and killed his wife and critically wounded his daughter before taking his own life.

Investigators said their preliminary investigation found that Huey Neil, his wife, Jessie Neil, 71, and daughter, Lashonda Neil, were involved in some sort of discussion that escalated to deadly violence.

Investigators said Huey first shot and killed his wife, Jessie, inside their Hamilton Drive house with a rifle.

Then investigators said Huey shot his daughter, Lashonda, in the back as she ran from the house.

Lashonda ran to a neighbor's house asking for help and the neighbor called 911.

Investigators said that after Lashonda fled the house, Huey shot and killed himself.

On Wednesday, police said Lashonda was in critical condition at a Macon Hospital.
