LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - A Ft. Myers, Florida woman is being treated in a Macon hospital after she was critically injured in a crash outside Leesburg Wednesday afternoon.
Georgia State Patrol troopers said Margaret Palmerfheim, 72, pulled her Buick into the path of a semi-truck at the intersection of Highway 32 and the Leesburg Bypass, leading to a crash.
Margaret was airlifted to Macon with broken bones and heart injuries. Her husband, Thomas Palmerfheim, 86, was in the passenger seat and suffered cuts in the crash.
Thomas was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The truck driver was not injured.
Troopers said Margaret will be cited for failure to yield.
