LEE CO., GA (WALB) - The Lee County commission approved developers to move forward with a new senior living facility.
The facility would be located at the end of Cartmell Drive off of Ledo Road.
It will house 46 senior adults and to qualify you must be 55 years or older.
The housing opportunities will be funded with tax credit through the Department of Community Affairs in Georgia.
This will be the third project in Lee County for senior living but the county believes that these apartments may be the most convenient senior living in the area.
"We just think this will be a great location that these seniors will be able to walk to the hospital, to their doctors' appointments, to shopping, to events, so it's really just a perfect location," said Lee County Commissioner Rick Muggridge.
Construction is expected to begin in the Summer of next year.
