TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Wendy's restaurants across the nation celebrated National Adoption Night on Tuesday.

Fifteen percent of all sales between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. will be donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

Last year the event raised $900,000 nationwide.

There will be fun and games for children, as well as adoption resources.

"Just to show that there are thousands of children out there who need forever homes. And with the drug epidemic, it's getting bigger and bigger, unfortunately," said 20th Street Tifton Wendy's Assistant Manager Wildean Easters-McClelland.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption was founded in 1992.

With the help of Wendy's Wonderful Kids, the partnership has helped over 7,000 children find homes.
