TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation is in the process of receiving a Mobile Healthcare Bus.
The bus would consist of two exam rooms, two waiting rooms, nurses stations, and a restroom.
They will provide health screenings and provide quality care at a lower cost.
Hospital officials said that this Mobile Clinic will reduce the number of ER visits, as well as the cost of those visits.
"Transportation is a big issue in our community," said Mandy Brooks, the Tift Regional Medical Center Executive Director. "And a lot of people don't have transportation, they don't have family to get here. So with this, we will be able to get to them, and see them and treat them effectively."
There will be four employees on the bus including a physician, nurse practitioners, a paramedic, and registration or security officer.
