ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One of our region's best-kept secrets is the Albany Civil Rights Institute.
Recently named to both the U. S. Civil Rights Trail, and The Georgia Footprints of Martin Luther King, Jr. Trail.
The Civil Rights Institute provides an opportunity to browse interactive exhibits, watch film and photographs, and take a step back into a time that helped shape our city and our region.
The Institute is now also a Blue Star Museum and will honor veterans and active military and families, with free admittance between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
On second Saturdays from 1-3pm, the world-famous Freedom Singers perform songs and tell the stories of the movement.
We hear too often, "There's nothing to do in Albany!"
Well this is one great suggestion: Tuesday – Saturday from 10am-4pm, come and visit the Albany Civil Rights Institute…
