ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

More than 70 families from around Southwest Georgia got to celebrate the lives of their little ones, who once spent time in Phoebe's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Children's Miracle Network hosted a Superhero themed NICU graduation party for former patients and their families.

They came from all over to connect with other families who have been through similar experiences.

Phoebe NICU nurses, physicians, and other staff members were there to talk with the patients they once helped.

"You know they are just so thankful for the care that they receive in the NICU," said Becca Miller, Children's Miracle Network Coordinator, Phoebe. "And so many of them tell me, 'I wish I can see our nurses again, I wish I can see our doctors again and just hug them and tell them thank you for everything they did for my child.' So it's really cool to see them meet back up and get to share how their child is doing."

Phoebe's NICU is one of six in the state.
