TERRELL CO., GA (WALB) -

The Highway 82 yard sale took over the 4-H pavilion in Terrell County Saturday.

Nineteen vendors and three major organizations came together to not only sell but to raise money for charities.

Terrell County Animal Control raised money for food for pets in the animal shelter.

The Terrell County Fire Department held a car wash and accepted donations for training equipment.

The 4-H organization's proceeds will go toward funding educational based programs for children this summer.

"I think that it sends a really good message to travelers," said Margaret Halbrook, a 4H County Agent. "Coming through, they think wow this is a very thriving community and its a very good positive impact for us. Plus its a great economic development boost."

Organizers said they had an amazing turnout with over several hundred people.
