ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With summer around the corner, parents across South Georgia are looking for ways to keep their kid's busy while out of school.
Saturday, the Dougherty County School System made it easier for parents to do that.
Super Summer Saturday helped children and their parents look at different programs their kids can participate in this summer.
Parents could sign their kids up for camps at the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, and more.
"Over the summertime, a lot of knowledge and things get lost and the kids are not actively retaining it," said expo coordinator Michele Edwards. " So its good to have education programs. Also if they are not active in something I'm going to say, is positive, they're going to find something to do. So we are trying to help them out to find something that is engaging and will also help them in later years of life."
First responders also went to the event.
They gave both parents and children tips on being safe this summer.
