TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A Tifton woman said the city has made repairs to a drainage pipe for years, but nothing seems to change.

On Monday, the city plans to request a proposal to repair the drainage pipe once and for all.

The pipe is located on the corner of 26th Street and Ridge Avenue.

Connie Ewing said she hopes changes will be made to the area's water system overall.

"The city has come and tested the water," said Ewing. "Nothing's really proved it's wrong, it's not contaminated but it has this smell. And like I said when you put water in a glass and it smells like pond water."

At the meeting, the city will also discuss changing its water system from liquid chlorine to liquid gas.
