TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The wives of three Tifton area veterans are waiting for their husbands to return from an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

A part of the Brunswick Coastal Honor Flight, veterans are given a chance to visit D.C. They are escorted by police and given a tour of the monuments.

On Friday, their wives said they were excited to hear yet another story that their husbands will remember for a lifetime.

"I think being with other veterans, it's just going to be an experience," said Connie Ewing, the wife of one of the war veterans. "What Mark was telling me that when you're with your family like that, all the memories some good and some bad, maybe the bad ones will not be as bad when your around people that appreciate all the service you did for your county."

They will be greeted not only by their wives with signs but also with a marching band from Brunswick.

If there are any veterans that would like to take part in the honor flight, you can apply here.
