LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

Several Lee County High School students are hoping they will make the trip up to DC next month for an important conference, but they need the community's help.

Members of the school's Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) need the community's support so they can attend SADD's national conference.

One of those members, McKinzie McTyeire, said she hopes she gets the chance to go to the conference so she can bring that information back to Southwest Georgia.

"I really want to learn more about protecting my friends and family, locally, not just in the school system. But I want to learn more about how to spread good information to help keep people safe," explained McTyeire.

Any donations are tax-deductible.

If you'd like to make a donation you can call (229) 903-3993 or send an email to shirleypa@lee.k12.va.us.
