ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State University is streamlining it's enrollment processes.
Starting this week, students can now go to one central location for all their questions: a place called Ram Central.
This centralized kiosk-like area allows students to get various questions about enrollment answered immediately.
Students can receive help for financial aid, student accounts, admissions and the registrar.
Not only are there representatives up front to aid students, but also in a back room there are customer service representatives who have cross-functional knowledge.
Some of the services provided allow students to go to one place to request transcripts, review financial aid, make payments and more.
Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management Stephanie Lawrence said during peak seasons like signing up for classes or financial aid deadlines, this system will be efficient for anyone who needs assistance.
"So no longer are they required to go from office to office. They come here and the staff are trained to answer all of those questions," explained Lawrence.
Ram Central is located in the student center on the west campus, and the Billy C. Black building on the east campus.
There are individualized computers too for students.
"Students seem to love it. The area is very comfortable if students want to sit or have a seat. We have a Starbucks around the corner so they can have coffee while they wait. So it's an exciting time for us," said Lawrence.
Renovations for creating a designated area are underway on the east campus, but the services are still up and running.
If you want to check out Ram Central, you can stop by between 8 and 5 Monday through Friday.
