SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) - Sumter County Middle School got a first-hand look at what happens if students choose a life of crime versus going to school and getting a job.
Nearly 1,000 students from Sumter County will board The Choice Bus this week.
Half the bus is a prison cell, the other half is a classroom.
Principal Anton Anthony said he tells his students every day they have choices and the Choice Bus represents that.
"This is a real-life example for them to actually see it into play. Even though they're in seventh and eighth grade, I still want them to understand at an early age, the choices that they make is very important and very vital to the success of their future," said Anthony.
The bus has one more stop in Sumter County on Friday at the Americus-Sumter Ninth Grade Academy.
