Because of Ced Bogan's impact, a group of south Georgians have refused to let his name die.
Registration is open for the annual Ced Bogan 5k in Dawson which takes place May 12th.
Last August the Terrell County native passed in a single car accident at the age of 30.
As a youth coach and mentor to student-athletes, Ced Bogan was essential in the South Georgia community.
He continues to be through the Ced Bogan foundation.
Bogan started the run 3 years ago, and his foundation is making sure it continues in his absence.
This year, the proceeds will fund scholarships for the valedictorian and salutatorian at Terrell County High.
By him not being here we wanted to carry on his name by giving something to the class of Terrell High every year in honor of Ced Bogan, said Al Watts who resides on the board of the foundation.
"Because he meant so much to the City of Dawson and Terrell County and kids in that community."
Visit www.cedboganfoundation.org to register to run or donate to the cause.
