TIFT CO., GA (WALB) -

Construction of Tift County High School is nearing completion.

Construction started last year on the expansion and merger.

They are a part of the reconfiguration through-out the school system.

Stacey Beckham, the director of communications for Tift County Schools, said most of the transition will take place this summer.

"A large percentage of the project is already complete here at the high school and people have been moving into some of their new classrooms but they will be finishing up the addition of the new gymnasium that we'll have," said Beckham. "Other renovations will be going on through the summer. Those will be ready for the new school year which starts in the middle of August."

The high school will house ninth through twelfth graders.

Over 2,000 students will attend the school in the fall.
