South Georgia farmers' markets to start up again

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It's farmer's market season in South Georgia.

Americus and Sylvester are starting up their community farmer's markets just in time for the spring weather.


Downtown Americus will host its grand opening and ribbon cutting on May 8 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The official opening day is Saturday, May 12 from 7 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Farmers and vendors will be present for both days, with fresh foods and produce.

The Downtown Sylvester Farmer's Market will open starting May through November on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The market will be located on the platform at the train depot.

Anyone interested in selling their locally grown produce or handmade products are welcome to come and participate in the market.
