THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A Thomasville mother and her boyfriend are facing charges after the mother's one-year-old was taken to the hospital and found with a number of injuries.
Dantes Malik Hampton and Andria Niquel Butler were arrested Friday following a week-long investigation.
According to reports from the Thomas County Sheriff's Office, Butler took her daughter to the hospital after she began having seizures.
The child was examined and found to have several fractures, including a skull fracture.
Investigators said the child's recovery has been nothing short of a miracle.
"We are very happy to know that she's okay, at the time it was reported we didn't know if the child would survive or not. We are ecstatic that she's doing okay," said Lt. Tim Watkins, Thomas County Sheriff's Office.
Hampton was charged with first-degree cruelty to children.
Butler was charged with second-degree cruelty to children.
Investigators said Hampton is believed to have caused injuries to the child.
Butler's children are currently in the Department of Children and Family Services' custody.
