ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Leesburg church took its place of worship and service to the streets of Albany, Sunday.
Forrester Community Church held a service for the homeless and less fortunate in the Drey Line area off Washington Street.
Members read the Bible and gave out snack bags filled with sandwiches and non-perishable items.
The nearly 30 people who went to the mobile giveaway van also got reading glasses and clothes.
"We enjoy doing it. We enjoy the fellowship we have. And it's our way of having church away from church," said Mike Freitas.
Church staff members said they've been doing this every Sunday for the last six years throughout the city.
If there's any leftover food, the church gives it to the Salvation Army.
