THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

The Humane Society made a visit to the Rose Show and Festival this year try and help our furry friends find homes.

Saturday they hosted a "Bark in the Park" event.

There was a contest for the cutest costume, owners, dog look-a-likes, and best tricks.

Participants said the event is something they look forward to every year.

"We're a bigger supporter of them and we really enter mostly just for donation purposes so that we can donate, and she can come out with her dog, and see other dogs. And of course, my son wants to adopt everything out here," said Summer Dusek, a participant.

Organizers encouraged people to bring out their lawn chairs and enjoy the show.
