EDISON, GA (WALB) - Randolph-Clay High School renamed "The Pitt" after the reason it was packed every Friday night. 

The Hundreds of Clay County students weren't born when Thomas Davis, Sr. was Mr. Everything for the Red Devils. That didn't stunt the excitement for their hometown hero.

From the ceremony in the gym to the ribbon cutting, Davis' career accolades were sputtered to the crowd.

2014 Walter Payton Man of the Year.

3-time pro bowler.

First team All-Pro linebacker.

Consensus all-American.

As the 13-year NFL vet puts the finishing touches on his career, this moment adds to the list.

"It's truly an honor to think about being a young kid growing up in Shellman, Georgia." Davis told WALB. "And living the life that I lived as a young kid to grow up to become this and have this right now, it just really speaks to how amazing God is."
