THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Folks in Thomasville said volunteer work is the backbone of the community.

Volunteering stretches back to Thomasville's inception when local churches first provided a support network for early Thomas County settlers.

Churches, organizations, schools, businesses and individuals of all ages and backgrounds continue to provide manpower, action and resources to better the area.

The Rose Show parade is centered around that, with the theme, "Helping Hands: A Celebration of Community Volunteers."

"It's really an amazing community that we can come together, be so active and get so much done, especially for the size of our community," said Angela Kiminas, HOTC Executive Director.

The parade starts at 7 p.m. on Broad Street in Downtown Thomasville

You can watch as Thomasville comes to life with colorful floats, marching bands, and stilt walkers.
