THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Over the next three days, the 97th Annual Thomasville Rose Show and Festival is expected to bring in over a million dollars.
According to the City of Thomasville Marketing Director, Sarah Baggett, about $1.4 million will be brought in over the three-day-long festival for Thomas County.
Baggett said visitors aren't just coming downtown for retail and restaurants, but also staying in hotels, shopping at drugstores and even filling up their gas tanks.
"The economic impact of an event like that cannot be overstated. It's wonderful. And we just enjoy seeing all the visitors come in. We have people from all over the country who've never been here before and this is one of their first tastes of Thomasville and it's always a good one," explained Baggett.
Southwest Georgians participate in the festivities and out of state visitors help to boost the economy.
