1 charged after I-75 high-speed chase

LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) -

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office has released dash cam video from a high-speed chase that happened on Monday.

Deputies said they tried to stop the vehicle for a window tint violation when the driver of the SUV switched lanes. Then it appeared like he was going to pull over before taking off.

Deputies chased the SUV into Cook County at speeds of 130 miles per hour before throwing out stop sticks, which blew out the SUV's front tire.

In the video, you can see the passenger, who is not facing any charges at this time, jump out and surrender as soon as the vehicle stopped.

Deputies said several things were thrown from the vehicle and have not been found.

Callejas Monroy has been charged with fleeing and alluding, driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.

    Several Albany churches are joining hands this week to end violence through prayer by hosting a continued tent revival tour in areas of high crime.  Fisherman of Men for Christ and five other churches will have a tent-gathering starting Monday, until Friday on the corner of West Whitney and Jefferson Street.
