South Georgia group aims to stop underage drinking

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany nonprofit is working to address underage drinking.

South Georgia Starz Academy has gotten a mental block grant, through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration or SAMHSA.

It's part of a statewide initiative called the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Project.

The nonprofit groups plan to educate the community about underage drinking in Dougherty County.

The group plans to work with community partners to carry out individual strategies.
