LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - A South Georgia veterans family will soon move into a new home, thanks to the hard work of volunteers.
The Flint Habitat for Humanity broke ground on a lot Saturday in Lee County for the family of a veteran.
Lee County partnered with Habitat for Humanity for the project.
People there helped raise the money to support the family of a veteran, by helping give them affordable housing.
"We anticipate 9 months of construction. 100s of hours from volunteers, 100's of dollars in donations will go into this Lee County house," said Scooter Courtney, the Executive Director for the Flint River Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat is still taking applications to find the right veteran and family for the home.
