LENOX, GA (WALB) - A community in Lenox, Georgia just received its first family health care facility.
Lenox Family Health will serve as a community health center in the neighborhood.
Officials said putting this center together was successful with the help of the mayor and state representatives.
The CEO of the South Central Primary Care Center said that money was appropriated from the state of Georgia for start-up funds. He also said that it has been a while since the area has had a medical practice in Lenox, so locals were forced to go to other areas.
The health center also plans to offer a behavioral health specialist and a pediatrician one day a week. Officials said they look forward to working with everyone in the community.
Organizers said close to 60 people attended Thursday's grand opening.
