ALBANY, GA (WALB) - More than 100 Albany-Dougherty City and County workers are out cleaning the streets, hoping to make Albany more beautiful.
Friday kicks off the Stash the Trash weekend event reminding people to be aware of the litter they are spreading.
For 33 years, volunteers have cleaned tons of litter.
Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful Executive Director Judy Bowles said this year's theme is beauty dies where litter lies.
Now, she's excited to see the Good Life City get a facelift.
"And it clearly says to us that these citizens don't want litter in their community," said Bowles.
More than 2,300 citizens will be picking up liter Friday and Saturday.
If you want to help clean more than 100 miles of roadway across the county, you can call the Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful office at 430-5257 to sign a team up.
