DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Exelon Corporation officials say the Albany Green Biomass facility is still not operational after a small fire on March 15.

On Thursday, Spokesperson Jimmy Porch said the fire at the biomass plant is still under investigation, and they have no idea how long it will take to get the plant producing energy again.

On March 15, the fire was spotted in the facility next to Procter & Gamble around 3 a.m.

Firefighters reported that there was a small fire in a hydraulic tank in the building.

Crews quickly contained the fire and let it burn itself out shortly after 7 a.m.

Firefighters said there were people in the plant, but no one was hurt.

Now one month later, the multi-million dollar energy generating plant is still not operating and they are not sure how much longer it will take to get everything back online.
