MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

WALB's news team is hitting the road Friday and you are invited to watch our 5:30 p.m. newscast live in downtown Moultrie.

The city's Spring Fling and Barbecue Contest will kick off at 8 p.m. in the downtown square.

"We are very fortunate we have a beautiful downtown square. We recognize that downtown is the center of our community, the heartbeat of our community, and we celebrate that. We not only celebrate that for the locals and our community, but we invite others to come share that with us," said Downtown Moultrie Economic Development and Public Relations Director Amy Johnson

After WALB's 5:30 p.m. show, you can stick around for live music in the square with the Swinging Medallions.

And on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., there will be plenty of activities and food for all ages, including the popular Barbecue Competition.

All events are free to the public.
