(RNN) - Thanks to a group of volunteer puppy raisers with Canine Companions, a group of service dogs took a field trip last week to the happiest place on earth.

Canine Companions for Independence breeds, raises and trains highly-skilled assistance dogs for children, adults and veterans with disabilities, and places them free of charge to recipients.

The organization said the trip to Disney is great socialization for the dogs since they get to be around all the different sights, sounds, smells and people that Disneyland has to offer.

This one pooch couldn’t hide his excitement when he met Pluto.

After being with their puppy raisers for about a year and a half, dogs are sent for professional service training.

The dogs learn to pick up dropped items and return them to their handlers, open and close doors and drawers, turn on and off lights, along with other skills.

The public can visit the organizations website to learn more about the assistance dogs.
