Documents show what led up to the firing of Mobile city employee

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

FOX10 News has obtained documents detailing what led up to the firing of a Mobile city employee.

As we reported Wednesday night, Tyrone Holley was fired from his job at the city garage. In a memo to Mayor Sandy Stimpson, Public Works Director Bill Harkins said he believed Holley lied during a hearing in November.

That hearing was called to determine if Holley was working a side job while also clocked in at the garage. Harkins believes Holley lied about using a city vehicle for personal business.

The document also shows that Holley refused to answer questions on the advice of his attorney. Holley can still appeal his termination to the Mobile Personnel Board.

FOX10 News was alerted to the possible misuse of tax dollars and investigated the claims. You can watch that special report by clicking here
