Police: Suspect arrested after man shot during home invasion in Anderson

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Multiple law enforcement officers responded to an apparent home invasion on Cherry Street Tuesday night, per the police chief.

Pendleton Police Chief Doyle Burdette said one person was shot during the apparent home invasion on the 900 block of Cherry Street. The shooting took place around 8:50 p.m.

Per the chief, the victim lived at the residence. Officers said the victim was shot in the leg during the incident. The victim underwent surgery and is expected to make a fully recover, police said. 

Chief Burdette says one person is in custody, but that there are possibly more suspects.

Officers said Braxton Earl, 23, was arrested in connection with the incident. Earl was charged with attempted murder, burglary first degree and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, police said. 

According to police, Earl is an acquaintance of the shooting victim.

Earl is currently being held at the Anderson County County Detention Center. 

Officers said the investigation of the case is ongoing.
