Southwest Georgia (WALB) -

As millions hit the road this holiday weekend, we could notice a continuing decline in gas prices.

According to AAA, gas prices have dropped for the last five weeks.

The state average is falling at a rate of one cent per day and that could continue throughout the end of the year.

Georgia gas prices are averaging around $2.27.

But in Albany, some prices are even as low as $2.07.

Garrett Townsend, Spokesperson for AAA, reassures travelers that there is a strong supply of gasoline so he does not suspect the prices to go up anytime soon.

"At this point, we don't expect anything that's going to affect that price drop through the remainder of the year," said Townsend.
