ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Hundreds of people lined up on Thursday for an annual Christmas luncheon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany.

Church members have put on the feast for 16 years.

There were hot meals with all the fixings for over a thousand people, and each adult and child was given a gift bag full of toys.

Organizer Alfreda Hampton said this is Mt. Zion's way of giving back to the community.

"There are so many people in need in our city, and at Mt. Zion, our entire church family is always looking for ways to give back to the people in our community," explained Hampton.

Organizers said they plan to continue the tradition for many years to come.
