ANDERSONVILLE, GA (WALB) - Saturday marked national Wreaths Across America Day.
People visiting Andersonville National Cemetery in Sumter County participated by laying wreaths on several hundred gravesites.
It's a chance to remember the sacrifices made by fallen servicemen and women.
According to the Andersonville National Historic Site, its cemetery gets between 500 and 800 wreaths per year that are sponsored by the Wreaths Across America nonprofit.
Each year, the cemetery rotates which of the 20,000 gravesites receive wreaths on this day.
