LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Lee County leaders are looking for residents to help design their mega recreational complex.
County commissioners are forming a resident's committee on how to move forward with the 100-acre sports complex.
The committee will be made up of homeowners, city and county leaders.
Lee County leaders asked the county attorney to draw up a contract between the city and the county.
Last week, Leesburg city officials submitted their proposal for the recreational complex, including football and soccer fields, a marina, and walking trails.
"The city made a proposal on the land but the county, before they purchase that land, they want to have an inspection of the land to make sure that there isn't something on that land that won't make it conducive for a good recreation site," said Leesburg City Manager Bob Alexander.
Lee County officials plan to review the contract for the sports complex next month.
