Teen shot in Lancaster Friday dies

LANCASTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

A teen shot in Lancaster Friday has died, Lancaster police said Tuesday.

Police say 17-year-old Daquan Blackmon was shot in the 400 block of E. Arch Street around 10:21 p.m. 

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots near Hughes Street and Gay Street shortly before officers received the phone call from Springs Memorial Hospital about a teen in critical condition with a gunshot wound. The teen, later identified as Blackmon, was airlifted to a Charlotte hospital. 

A possible motive has not been released. A forensic autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
