DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Georgia State Troopers have a warning for drivers.

That's because they're expecting distractions for drivers during the solar eclipse.

Troopers said between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. you should take extra caution on the roadways.

Turn on your headlights and be conscious of distracted drivers.

Most importantly, troopers said don't wear your solar glasses while driving.

"This is a rare occurrence," said Corporal John Vanlandingham with the Georgia State Patrol Post 40. "People tend to do crazy and silly things when during times when these occur. Make sure you slow down, and give yourself extra time to go and get where you are going."

Troopers will be out on the roadways on Monday.

They're encouraging people to pull over if they want to watch.
