ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A candlelight prayer vigil was held Tuesday night in Albany to stand in solidarity with the victims of the Charlottesville riots.
A couple dozen people gathered at the St. John and St. Mark Episcopal Church off Holly Drive for the service.
The organizer said he has seen evidence of hurt and pain from the people in Albany over the violence in Charlottesville and wanted to try to help.
"Try to gather in community to try to gain strength from those who are with us here tonight to go out into the world and make it a better place," said vigil organizer Gabriel Lawrence.
Organizers said they want to take a stand against racism and bigotry and instead offer love and understanding.
