THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Folks in Thomasville will soon see new playground equipment at MacIntyre and Weston Parks.
The city council approved the purchase of the equipment at its meeting Monday night.
Earlier this year the city announced it's plan to revitalize neighborhood parks.
Design teams and city leaders are incorporating improvements suggested by people in the community.
The equipment will include new swings, slides, and other playground sets.
"When do you expect this to be installed? said Jay Flowers, Council member.
"There is a lead time of 4 to 6 weeks so it will be installed later this fall," said Jerry Pionessa, City Engineer.
The funding for the equipment will come from the 2012 SPLOST recreation fund.
