Volunteers who have stuck together cleaning up since January's storms, helped one of their own today.

The Albany Chain Gang hosted a car wash at Gieryics Automotive Repair on Dawson Road.

All to help out Jason Stewart, whose truck was totaled this week while on his way to volunteer.

Teresa Knight is one of the Chain Gang leaders who wanted to help Stewart after his crash.

Stewart is a storm cleanup volunteer who was left speechless when the gang reached out in support.

Now he's grateful for those wanting to help him.

"Speechless. When they told me about it, it brought tears. It's just when people reach out of the kindness of their heart with no obligation, it means a lot," said Stewart.

Within just an hour of starting up the car wash this morning, Knight says they had already had 15 cars come through.

The goal was one-thousand dollars.
