ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Fire Department is going to hold a Golf Tournament soon for a good cause.
AFD's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament will be held October 16th at Stonebridge Country Club.
Their goal is to make this year even bigger than last.
Last year, they raised approximately $11,000.
The funds raised from the tournament are donated to the Georgia Firefighter's Burn Foundation, which helps burn victims and their families, as well as to the Albany Fire Department's fire safety education program.
"It assists with financial support with the care for the victim. Also, with the lodging, if a family has to stay out of town in a hotel, they assist. They give them financial support so they don't have to absorb all the cost of staying in the hotel," said Deputy Chief Sebon Burns.
Right now, the fire department is looking for hole sponsors, participants, and companies to donate door prizes.
It's $65 a person in a 4-man scramble.
