PELHAM, GA (WALB) -

A man is behind bars after investigators said he broke into two churches and a city shop in Pelham.

Police said Zachary McIntyre took music equipment such as amplifiers and microphones from The Vision for Deliverance Tabernacle of Pelham and Holy Jerusalem Church back in June.

Investigators said McIntyre also broke into a city maintenance shop on Grady Street.

They said McIntyre also stole several tools such as a drill set and a 4 wheeler.

Investigators said they believe McIntyre tried to start a fire in the city building.

"He had turned the tanks on to the welders and put trash in the microwave, and moved the welders near the microwave. We believe in an attempt to start a fire," said Adam Lamb with the Pelham Police Department.

McIntyre has been charged with three counts of burglary in the second degree, interference of government property, and theft of a motor vehicle.
