DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County Police tell us they're making progress on a brutal home invasion investigation.

It's been almost two months since Putt Wetherbee, 49, was attacked at his home off of Gravel Hill Road.

Police said approximately 5 suspects broke into Wetherbee's home, shot him in the back, and stole his truck.

On Wednesday, DCP Lieutenant Stephen Mitchum gave us an update on this active investigation.

"We are focusing on certain individuals whose names have come up as suspects," said Lt. Mitchum. "They're very good suspects in this case.  I expect that within the next couple of weeks, we'll be able to take warrants out on these individuals."

There is still a $70,000 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the men responsible.

You can call Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS, and remain anonymous.
