Albany native Andre Kennedy has dreamed of playing division I ball for years.
His took a short detour, but arrived at his destination.
Kennedy just signed his letter of intent to play basketball for Alabama A&M.
The former Westover forward graduated in 2015.
He spent the past two seasons in Americus at South Georgia Tech.
Kennedy put up 14 points and 8 rebounds his sophomore year--earning an all-conference nod with the Jets.
He's looking to improve on the program that hired a new coach after totaling just 2 wins last season.
"I wanted to compete on the national stage," said Kennedy. "I've been wanting to play division I for a long time since I was in middle school. And to have dream as a young child and kept grinding for it, it's just a blessing. That's all that is."
Kennedy leaves for the SWAC school Saturday.
He has two years left of eligibility.
