ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany police arrested a man on Tuesday after a woman's purse was snatched from her buggy at a Harveys store.

According to APD, Timothy Richardson, 26, stole the purse of Mary Harris, 63, from her cart at the Harveys store in the 1000 block of Gordon Avenue.

Police said Harris walked into the store around 2 p.m. and Richardson grabbed her purse and took off running.

A report from APD said employees from Harveys caught Richardson, and that he was injured.

Richardson was treated by EMS and then taken to the Law Enforcement Center and later arrested and booked into the Dougherty County Jail.

Richardson has been charged with robbery by snatching.
