ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

On Saturday Thronateeska Heritage Center hosted its science Saturday to teach children all about the upcoming eclipse.

On Monday, August 21, you can see the total solar eclipse where the sun will disappear behind the moon.

It's only expected to last a few minutes.

Kids learned what it means to have a total solar eclipse by participating in demonstrations.

Ann West brought her son Tyler to learn more and share her favorite part.

"Academics. He loves the solar system. He loves space," West explained, "We put the planets up in his playroom. And so for him to be able to take part in the eclipse and understand that it's the moon shadowing the earth and to watch this happen is pretty exciting."

August 19 will be the next science Saturday.
