TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The Tifton city council is updating a 12-year-old agreement.
Tifton city manager Pete Pyrzenski said he along with other council members are looking to change the language on an agreement from 2005 so the city and Tift County could work together on providing water to residents.
Since the 1970s, Pyrzenski said Tifton's provided water services not only for Tifton, but to Tift County.
But he says the city does not plan on doing anything different in providing services.
"I really think this particular business with the service is just an internal function and really should not have any effect on customers or residents inside the city or outside the city," Pyrzenski said.
The water service in Tifton provides utilities for more than 10,000 folks across the city and county.
