MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Moultrie Police Department is now under new leadership.
Sean Ladson was sworn in as the Chief of Police Friday morning.
Ladson comes from the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office where he was part of the SWAT Team, and Lieutenant of the Drug Enforcement Team.
Ladson says it's his goal to protect the community and property by combating crime.
"I want to bridge and create a relationship between the city and the county. The city police department the county sheriff's office. I think we will be able to serve you more efficiently," said Ladson.
Former Chief Frank Lang will move into a new role of Chief Emeritus.
He will be in charge of the department's new Open Policing Program.
